Chris Martin, DPhil – Non-Executive Chairman
Chris worked in the healthcare sector for 10 years as a consultant with Paras. He has founded companies in Europe and the US and is currently a board member of the Finsbury Technology Trust and Xenva. He is founder and CEO of the oncology drug company Spirogen. He is a chartered director, chartered engineer and has a DPhil from Oxford and an MBA from IMD.

Alan O’Connell, PhD – Non-Executive Director
Alan is a Partner at Seroba Kernel. He has a background in product and business development in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Prior to joining Seroba Kernel in 2003, Alan worked in a variety of product and business development roles at Elan Corporation (Dublin), American Biogenetic Sciences, Inc. (New York), and he also spent time in the Pharmacovigilance section at The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (London). His previous venture capital experience was gained at Estée Lauder Investments (New York) and he still sits on the scientific advisory board of the Lauder funded Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation.

Jim Walsh – Non-Executive Director
Jim has 25 years general management experience in the Healthcare industry with particular experience in Diagnostics. He is an Executive Director and Chief Scientific Officer with diagnostics firm Trinity Biotech Plc, (NASDAQ: TRIB). He is also a Non-Executive Director of Canadian-based cancer diagnostics firm BioCurex Inc. (OTC BB: BOCX.OB) as well as Chairman of Biosensia Ltd. and Executive Chairman of GenCell Biosystems Ltd. (both Irish-based Life Science Companies). He also holds Non-Executive Director positions with a number of early stage biotechnology companies. Previously, Jim was Managing Director of Cambridge Diagnostics Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of Inverness Medical Innovations Inc (AMEX: IMA). Before joining CDL he worked with Fleming GmbH as R&D Manager. Jim is a graduate of the National University of Ireland and holds a Doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry and Post Doctorate qualifications in Immunochemistry.

Stephane Sallmard – Non-Executive Director
Stephane worked at Optos from 2001-06, leading the company from $1.5m in revenues to over $48m a year. He floated the company on the London Stock exchange at a valuation in excess of $330m and raised $50m for the company in the process. Sallmard is currently chairman of Forth Photonics. He advises Crescent on its sales and marketing strategy in addition to being a board member.

Bernard Lim – Non-Executive Director
Bernard founded and led WELMED, an intravenous drug delivery system company to over $20m revenue and exited via a sale to a major US pharmaceutical. He later joined Vasogen, a cardiovascular company as VP Technology and was appointed Senior VP Operations in 2006. He also founded two consulting companies specializing in strategic R&D and operations within the medical device, life science and electronics sectors. He currently serves as board director for a number of companies, undertakes interim management and strategic consulting assignments for clients in the US, Canada and Europe, and recently led a glaucoma and Alzheimer’s diagnostic start-up as their interim CEO.

Eric Reed – Non-Executive Director
Eric is a Partner with Enterprise Equity. Prior to this, he was a senior manager with Coopers & Lybrand, Chartered Accountants, in both England and Ireland.  He joined Digital Equipment Intl. in Galway in 1984 and was Financial Controller of its hardware manufacturing plant until 1994. He was a founding director of two successful start-up companies in 1994 and worked with those companies as director until joining Enterprise Equity.
